Soldier's Notes

 

Brothers Corporal Lafayette Hunting and Private Alvah Hunting served in Company I of the 49th New York. Lafayette was wonded at the Battle of Spotsylvania Court House on May 12, 1864 and died a short time later of his wounds. His name is inscribed on the Memorial at the Mule Shoe Salient. Alvah died of scarlet fever in 1862.
