Soldier's Notes

 

Private John Layaou, Company C, enlisted in August of 1862 and served a term of three years, participating in the battles of Second Bull Run, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, and Gettysburg. He served under General John Sedgwick in Sixth Army Corps, Smith's Division, Third Brigade.

Corporal Clinton Bartlett Fay, Company G, was wounded at Antietam and subsequently received a disability discharge.
